There has been discussions lately about timers on traffic exchanges. In my opinion they have gotten out of hand and some are not advantageous to advertisers. It is not uncommon now to find timers of 6 seconds or less. As an advertiser, I wonder if my advertisement is getting the exposure it needs. As a surfer, I want to earn credits, as a traffic exchange owner, I want whats best for my advertisers.

At WBS, our timers are set so both the surfer and advertiser should be happy. As a free member of our program, the timer is set at 15 seconds. What makes it a unique surf bar is the way they are constructed. They are a little more interesting then the ‘click the same image’ surf bars you see at most traffic exchanges. This helps cut down on the boredom of surfing, and allows better concentration on the sites being displayed. As an upgraded member, the timers are set at 10 seconds… just a bonus to encourage pro members to surf, even though their membership gives them adequate credits to advertise their sites and programs.
